My husband came home with some camel meat today. A brother gave some to him. Alhamdulillah he has always wanted to try it but hasn't had the opportunity to. Until now. He's really excited about it too, MashaAllah.
So how do I cook it? Asian, Jamaican? The brother who gave it to him just said to cut it into small pieces and that it should cook for slightly longer than beef. I've never cooked beef either...

oooohhhh what day are you cooking it? doe we get to try some? I've never had camel meat.....only joking!
Put it on boil for a long time with onions chopped quite large, otherwise the onions will disappear with the amount of time the meat takes to tender. thats with beef and mutton anyway.
Tell your husband to blog it here and let us know how tasty a dish you made.
hey cagebird you're free alhamdulilah!!
they let you out...why don't you FLY over to London, i can't post on your blog.
umm maymo, you could try to steam the meat first to make it soft and then cook it like cagebird suggested insha'Allah, put a picture up for us to see after you have cooked it.
umm zaidah nusaybah
If I put up any picture dear it'll be on a private blog i'm not having my cooking skills or pictures of it displayed publicly!

how did the camel meat go (im assuming you have cooked it by now?)
Hema u've tried my cooking before love.
The meat is frozen. I want my husbands first taste of camel meat to be a nice one. Hence i'm procrastinating ....
My husband has had camel meat twice alhamdulillah. I asked him what it tastes like. I got the following response:
"It tastes like rubbery chicken!"
so on your marks, get set......start chewing!! (might take you a few hours to finish)
Umm Zaidah Nusaybah
Anyone who wants to try it (seriously) let me know. You can come round the day I cook it although it maybe in the far far future.....
(Southerners or former Mancunians need not apply)
Take the meat to a “restaurant” where one team member must grind, season and skewer the camel meat, before giving it to the “chef” to cook.
thats discrimination umm maymo...sniff sniff. if you're going to cook it in the far far future in a galaxy far far away (from me!)you can save some for me in the fridge so I can eat it when i visit you innit??
Umm Zaidah Nusaybah

sorry umm maymo, we've hijacked your blog! you can come round too:)
Salam,
Make sure to do wudu after you eat it. You can make a kebsa or boiled with onions, garlic, fresh tomato, Whole Chilli peppers and whole spices which include Cardamom, Cloves. Cinnamon, Ginger Root, Black Peppercorns and also some ground spices -Turmeric, baharaat. Salt to taste of course.
Boil the meat until tender then remove the meat from the water and brown in the oven and the strained water is used to boil the rice with.
The meat is then served on top of the rice and can be decorated with fried nuts and small pieces of fried, cut Liver seasoned with some ground black pepper and a tiny sprinkling of ground cinnamon at the end of frying it.
You could also grind it for burgers.
JazakAllahu Khair anonymous!
